Welcome to Ambleside School and thank you for your interest.

Request More Information

If you would like more information than is available on our website, please Request More Information and our Admissions Office will contact you. If you have not already done so, please consider making an appointment to tour the school, come to an open house, or connect with us over a call. We would very much like to meet you and encourage you to visit our school.

Next Steps Following a Visit

1. Apply - see "How to Apply" below

2. Assessment - upon receipt of a completed application file, we will schedule a student assessment.

3. Interview - after the student assessment, we will schedule a parent interview.

  • Interview Preparation: Read chapter 2 of When Children Love to LearnThis book outlines the ideas of Charlotte Mason (1842-1923), an English author, philosopher and educator, as the basis of our school's method of education.
  • We ask that both parents (or legal guardians) participate in the interview.

4. Admissions Decision - upon successful completion of the application, student assessment, recommendation form, records, and parent interview, you will receive a final decision from our Admissions team. If admitted, you will receive more information regarding the enrollment process and how you can secure your child's seat.

How to Apply

To begin the Application process, Create an Account. Upon account creation, you will receive an email containing a verification link. Once your email address has been verified, log in to your account and Create A New Student Application for your child. You will then have the flexibility to log in and out of your account and access your open application.

A non-refundable fee of $100 must be submitted with each application.

After submitting the application, you will be able to track your admissions status at the school by logging in to your account. In addition, you will be able to print the completed application, monitor when the school receives any applicable supplemental forms and, if necessary, reprint the forms.

Admissions Timeline

Applicant files completed by February 1 for the following school year will receive a decision by March 1. After February 1, applications will be considered as space is available. If a class is full, applicants will be placed on a waiting list.

If you have questions, please contact us by phone at 703-430-4034 or email at admissions@ambleside.org. We appreciate your interest and hope to assist you any way we can.

Blessings,
